Are you embarrassed by your missing tooth or teeth? We’re here to help.
The Chesapeake Center for Completed Dentistry offers its patients custom-fit restorative solutions that are secure and long-lasting. Tooth restoration strengthens teeth and improves overall oral health, not to mention tooth appearance.
Why Replace Missing Teeth?
In the long run, a missing tooth or teeth can create more dental and medical problems, such as:
- Shifting teeth, causing tooth crowding
- Increased tooth decay
- Bone loss
- Difficulty biting and chewing
- Difficulty speaking
- Bad breath caused by decay
So what are the restorative dental solutions used to prevent further medical problems from arising?
Prior to treatment, Dr. John C. Cranham will discuss your restorative treatment options to determine which option is right for you.
Here are the options offered at the Chesapeake Center for Completed Dentistry:
This solution works perfectly for patients who are missing a tooth or have several missing teeth and also requires the least maintenance. In the procedure, a titanium post is secured and integrated into the jaw bone. An abutment is attached to the implant to hold the replacement tooth or teeth.
Also known as “All on Four” or “Teeth in a Day”, this solution is a great option for patients who are missing the upper or lower arch of their teeth. Before dentures are created, digital impressions and 3-D imaging are utilized to find healthy bone tissue to support dentures. The procedure itself uses titanium posts that secure a temporary denture. In 3 to 6 months, custom-fit permanent dentures are implanted for a new, long-lasting smile.
Dental bridges close the gap between a tooth or teeth. This solution secures dental implants or dental crowns and can replace one tooth or multiple teeth. Dental bridges can also be removable or fixed for patient’s convenience.
